Conflict Free Diamonds

Conflict diamonds, also known as blood diamonds, refer to diamonds that are acquired through illegal means to finance armed conflicts and civil wars, usually in regions of unrest. These diamonds are mined using forced labor and then smuggled across borders to be sold on the black market, with the proceeds used to fund rebel groups and oppressive governments.

Since our inception Calico has been committed to selling conflict-free ethical diamonds, recognizing the unacceptable nature of tolerating conflict diamonds and the associated human suffering. We purchase diamonds from suppliers who adhere to responsible globally recognized sourcing standards.

Ethical diamonds are raw diamonds that are obtained using fair mining practices in terms of; safe treatment of miners, wages and working conditions and sustainable practices. These diamonds are in compliance with strict labor and environmental regulations.
