Shipping Policy

Calico offers free shipping on all orders over $1,000 CAD. Shipping costs for orders under $1,000 CAD will be calculated at checkout. If you do not see a shipping cost at checkout, please reach out to our team for confirmation of shipping cost.

We offer fast and secure insured shipping to destinations worldwide. Your items will be carefully packaged and insured during transit.

Here’s how we make sure your order is shipped safely:

  1. Your parcel is sent through FedEx priority (or alternative carriers when applicable).
  2. Items are insured and registers for their full value.
  3. All packages require a home or business address. Please note we are unable to ship to P.O. boxes and military bases.
  4. A signature is required for all deliveries for insurance purposes. *
  5. FedEx tracking number available for your package.

    *Once a signature has been obtained by the carrier from an individual at the designated delivery address, the order is deemed complete.

    **We prioritize prompt delivery of your order. Factors such as inclement weather conditions, carrier delays, or incorrect addresses may cause unforeseen delivery delays, which are beyond our control. Please note that shipping fees are non-refundable.

Yes! We ship internationally via FedEx, which is fully tracked door to door. Please note that additional time and communication with your country's custom's office may be required.


For international orders

Calico does not charge taxes on orders shipped outside of Canada. All orders shipped outside of Canada may be subject to any local taxes and custom duties due on delivery. You can check with your local authorities prior to placing an order to find out more about the taxes and duties that may be charged.

For orders shipped within Canada, the federal and provincial taxes are calculated at checkout according to the province the order is being shipped to. For orders shipped to other regions, the total displayed at checkout excludes taxes and duties.

Fine Jewellery orders are typically delivered within 4-6 weeks.

Engagement Ring and Wedding Ring orders are typically delivered within 4-6 weeks.

Once your jewellery has been manufactured, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. Shipping couriers require 24-48 hours to process an order and issue a tracking number.

Return Policy

All sales are final. Exchanges are subject to manufacturing defects only. When replacing a product with a manufacturing defect, the exchange with be for the same design, no alterations or changes are allowed. Contact
us to confirm which ring styles can be resized.

If there is a manufacturing defect, or if there is a discrepancy in the item that you received from what you ordered, Calico Jewellers will initiate a warranty claim.

To be eligible for an exchange, your item must meet the following criteria:

  1. The issue must be reported immediately upon receipt of the product.
  2. The report must be accompanied by proof of purchase and all original documentation.
  3. All items must be in the same condition as received, unworn, and unaltered.


*The assessment and confirmation of the manufacturing defect is at the discretion of Calico Jewellers Manufacturing Ltd. If a return does not meet the criteria of returnable items, a flat rate will be charged for two-way fully insured overnight shipping with FedEx.

When preparing a return, follow the instructions below and include all original documentation.

  1. Initiate Your Return: Contact us at info@calicoj.com to obtain a return shipping authorization code and request your FedEx return shipping label. Please write your return shipping authorization code on the outside of the package you are returning.
  2. Preparing Your Package: For all exchanges, please include all original packaging and accompanying materials, including the packing slip and all diamond certificates. A $35 CAD replacement fee will be charged for each missing certificate. For a ring resizing, do not include original certificates and accompanying materials.
  3. Shipment and Insurance: For the insurance to be valid with your FedEx prepaid label, you must "double box" your shipment and follow the Packing Steps below. For security reasons, do not write jewellery, diamonds, or other related words anywhere on the package.

PACKING STEPS:

  1. Place your item inside its original ring/jewellery box.
  2. Next place the ring/jewellery box inside the small FedEx box.
  3. Then, place the small box inside of the medium FedEx shipping box.
  4. Lastly, attach the label to the outside of the larger box, write your return shipping authorization code on the outside and drop it off at your nearest FedEx Authorized Ship Center location.

Calico Jewellers and FedEx are not responsible for packages dropped off in FedEx Drop Boxes or Non-FedEx staffed locations. Obtain a FedEx receipt to confirm that the item has been shipped - this receipt will act as proof of insurance.

For your convenience, we recommend using the original packaging from your order. If you do not have the original packaging, FedEx shipping Centers offer replacement boxes.

We proudly handcraft each piece of jewellery to retain the highest level of quality. All sales are final, and no returns will be accepted, unless there is a manufacturing defect.

When replacing a product with a manufacturing defect, the exchange with be for the same design, no alterations or changes are allowed.

If your package arrives damaged, please take a picture of the parcel before signing for the shipment and have the driver note the damaged package.

Once you have opened the package and if there is damage to the product inside, please contact us at 778-435-2132 immediately. Please take additional pictures of the damage product and email them to us at: info@calicoj.com.

Please inspect your order as soon as your receive it. If you have received the wrong item, please contact us to correct the error. Claims for damaged items must be reported within three days of receiving of your order to qualify for an exchange. Please review How Do I Prepare My Return? for next steps on how to initiate a return shipment.

Ring Sizing Policy

Calico offers one complimentary ring resize (up to one full Canadian/US size up or down), within the first year from your purchase date. Calico will provide free return shipping of the resized ring within Canada. Customers are responsible for the shipping expenses to Calico Jewellers for the complimentary ring resizing.

*Certain rings cannot be resized, including but not limited to, Diamond and gemstone eternity rings; milgrain or ornate bands; some silver rings; and rings with contemporary metals.

Please note that our free resizing service does not apply to Final Sale items.

At Calico, we want your ring to feel comfortable and fit perfectly. Within the first year from purchase date, we offer one complimentary resizing for Calico Rings (up to one full Canadian/US size up or down). Learn more about Calico’s Ring Sizing Policy above.

We will resize and ship your resized ring within 21 business days. Need it sooner? Get in contact with our team to discuss getting it resized faster.

Custom Design Policies

Due to fluctuating market prices, quotes are valid for three business days only.

Custom orders are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Custom orders cannot be cancelled once payment has been made and the manufacturing process has been initiated.

We offer one complimentary ring resizing within the first year from purchase. Calico will provide free return shipping of the resized ring within Canada. Customers are responsible for the shipping expenses to Calico Jewellers for the complimentary ring resizing.

*Certain rings cannot be resized, including but not limited to, Diamond and gemstone eternity rings; milgrain or ornate bands; some silver rings; and rings with contemporary metals.

Diamond & Gemstone Removal Policy:
At Calico Jewellers we take the utmost care in the repair, restoration and redesigning of all jewellery items entrusted to our care. Some stones may have previous damage hidden by claws. Due to the inherent nature of diamonds and coloured gemstones there is a slight risk of chipping or cracking in the unsetting, resetting of stones, or in the resizing of a ring. Calico therefore assumes no liability for any damage incurred to customers stones while in our possession.

Diamond & Gemstone Testing Policy:
We do not test client’s stones for authenticity. Therefore Calico assumes no liability for disputes of quality and grading of any customers gemstones or diamonds sent to us for reuse.

When sending items to Calico Jewellers, customers must provide pictures of the individual items, including any available documentation for each item such as appraisals or gemstone certificates.

Calico Jewellers retains the full unrestricted rights to all jewellery designs we produce for our clients, whether custom or standard, and Calico may choose to market or sell jewellery based on such designs.

At Calico Jewellers we utilize customers’ gold to create new pieces. Due to the variation of gold carat in different jewellery items, and the minor loss of gold from the melting/cleaning process, Calico asserts the right to add gold or alloys to achieve the desired weight and carat of gold needed for production. This will only be done with the knowledge and consent of the client.

Using customers’ gold may result in porosity or flaws in the final product and the Calico Manufacturing Warranty does not apply.

Gold Testing Policy:
When customers submit jewellery for reuse in a custom designed piece, or for credit towards a purchase; Calico Jewellers will test the jewellery to determine the precious metal content of each item. Customers will be informed and provided detailed descriptions of the findings. Calico assumes no liability for any discrepancies in customers’ jewellery precious metal content. Calico holds the sole determination of final precious metal content based on our testing of the precious metal.

Yes, we purchase old jewellery. We also purchase all types of precious metal items like jewellery, coins, bars, and scrap metal. If you have any items that you're considering parting with, our team is ready to assist you in transforming them into a stunning new piece of jewellery or providing cash in exchange.

Repurposing precious metals is not just a business practice for us; it's a conscious effort to reduce the demand for mining and actively contribute to the creation of new jewellery items in an environmentally friendly manner. We predominantly use recycled gold and platinum in the production of our jewellery. Learn more about how Calico practices sustainability.

NEXT STEPS:

Contact Us about sending in your precious metal items. After receiving your items our team of experts will assess the jewellery's contents and identify which elements can be repurposed. Once the assessment is complete, one of our team members will reach out to you to share a detailed summary of the value of your items and discuss the next steps on redesigning or crediting you for the value of the items. CALICO WARRANTY

We are committed to delivering high-quality craftsmanship in every piece of jewellery we create. Calico Jewellers Manufacturing Ltd. ("Calico") offers a free lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects on all jewellery. Custom pieces and restorations that utilize customer’s precious metals and gemstones are subject to exclusions. If you feel that you have encountered damage to your purchase due to a manufacturing error, please contact us immediately so that we may evaluate your piece. Email info@calicoj.com with photos, a short video, and a description of what the damage is, and how the damage occurred. If we determine that the damage is not a manufacturing defect via the images provided, we may not accept the item back for an evaluation.

A $75 CAD deposit will be required before the shipping of your item back to Calico for evaluation. This will cover the cost of shipping back to Calico and an evaluation by our expert jewellers to determine if the damage is warrantied. If the warranty claim is deemed a manufacturing defect, Calico will repair the warrantied damage, or replace the item when appropriate, without charge, and the initial deposit will be refunded in full. We also offer complimentary return shipping back to the customer for all warrantied repairs. Damages that are determined not to be a manufacturing defect, and are repairable, will have a repair fee quoted to the customer for approval before any work is performed. If the customer chooses not to perform the repair, a shipping fee will be charged to the customer for return shipping.

As each piece of jewellery is made-to-order and crafted specifically for you, slight variations are to be expected and are not viewed as a defect.

Repair or service performed by a jeweller other than Calico will void the warranty. Our manufacturing warranty excludes coverage for wear and tear, loss of gemstones, product loss, or theft. Coverage also excludes damage or loss caused by a failure to obtain the repairs required to preserve the integrity of the jewellery.
Some examples of common jewellery issues that would not be considered manufacturing defects include:

• Exposure to unreasonable force or harmful conditions.
• Improper storage and mishandling. Abused, altered, or incorrectly cleaned rings, etc.
• The discolouration of precious metals caused by chemicals, make-up, immersion in pools and hot tubs, or bathing, etc.
• Prongs catching, wearing out, or bending over time due to everyday wear or normal damage, allowing a gemstone to fall out.
• Stones set in jewellery may become loose over time due to everyday wear and tear. Regular maintenance, such as prong tightening, and cleanings are required.
• The loss of a gemstone(s) caused by damage from everyday wear or from other damage.
• Rings that have been resized may have visible marks where the resizing was done. This is a common and expected outcome of the resizing process.

The Calico Lifetime Warranty Against Manufacturing Defects is available only to the original purchaser, as this warranty is non-transferable. To benefit from the warranty and the services it provides, Calico requires:

SHARING PERSONAL INFORMATION

For diamond jewellery featuring multiple diamonds, we provide the minimum total carat weight for the piece. Colour and clarity grades are expressed as either a minimum or an average based on the number of diamonds. On very rare occasions, you may receive a Shipping Confirmation from us, but the product is no longer available in our or our third party fulfillment provider's inventory. You agree that we may rescind our acceptance and cancel your order without penalty if we are unable to ship the product you ordered due to unavailability.

If you're interested in a piece of jewelry that is currently on back order, email us and we can tell you when the item will be back in stock. Sometimes with the volume of orders we receive, an item may go out of stock before we are able to post a notification on the Site. If this happens, we will contact you directly to discuss possible options.

PRODUCT PRICING

In rare circumstances, data, including prices, may be inaccurately displayed on our Site due to system or typographical errors. While we make every attempt to avoid these errors, they may occur. ONLINE TRANSACTIONS & SHIPPING

When you purchase products or services via the Calico website, payment must be made at the time of purchase, following the specified payment method on the website. Calico does not guarantee the availability of products or services advertised for purchase through the website.
Each order placed through Calico's website is fully insured until it reaches the customer. During transit, shipment is always covered by Calico's insurance coverage. For enhanced security, it is Calico's policy that a signature is required for all orders, irrespective of any signature waivers with the shipping carrier.

For shipments, Calico will utilize FedEx for order fulfillment. Shipping fees will be clearly indicated on the website at the time of purchase. While Calico endeavors to deliver products purchased through the website within the indicated time frames, the actual delivery date is beyond their reasonable control, and therefore, no guarantee is provided regarding delivery dates.

Customers are responsible for any associated charges such as loading fees, freight, shipping insurance, handling charges, storage fees, and applicable taxes and duties (including customs duties) related to the purchase, shipment, or delivery of ordered products. Calico acknowledges that the payment of such fees and charges is the responsibility of the customer. As each of these jurisdictions has laws that may differ from those of the Province of British Columbia, by accessing the Website, you agree that all matters relating to access to, or use of, the Website, or any other hyperlinked website, shall be governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. You also agree and hereby submit to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the courts of the Province of British Columbia and acknowledge that you do so voluntarily and that you are responsible for complying with local laws.

The place of arbitration will be Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The decision of the Arbitrator on all issues or matters submitted to the Arbitrator for resolution shall be conclusive, final and binding on all of the parties. The Arbitrator shall determine who shall bear the costs of arbitration pursuant to this section. You and Calico also agree and hereby submit to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the Supreme Court of British Columbia for the purposes provided for in the Arbitration Act or the International Commercial Arbitration Act.

Calico records evidence of all transactions between www.calicojewellers.ca and its customers. In the event of a dispute between Calico and one of its customers relating to a transaction, the data recorded by Calico shall be treated as evidence of the details of the transaction.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT

The failure of us to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
