Caring for your Diamond & Diamond Jewellery

Diamonds are remarkably durable and scratch-resistant and maintain their brilliance over time. However, they are not indestructible; they can be chipped by a sharp blow, become loose or lost in a weakened setting, or be damaged by contact with other diamonds. Therefore, wear diamond jewellery with care and store it in padded boxes or soft bags, separate from other jewellery.

To clean your diamond jewellery, there are a few simple methods. For a quick clean, wipe your diamonds with a lint-free cloth; this will remove any oils and grime from the surface. To give a more thorough clean, use warm water, a drop of mild soap, and scrub your jewellery with a soft toothbrush; this will help remove built-up debris from underneath the diamond and between the settings, allowing more light to pass through and permitting your jewellery to sparkle again. Additionally, it is recommended to have your jewellery periodically examined by a trusted professional jeweller to verify its integrity and be cleaned so that it will look as good as new. These easy steps will allow you to have your jewellery look stunning for decades to come.

NOTE: Be extremely careful about what you use to clean your jewellery. Different metals, and different types of precious, semi-precious and non-precious stone react differently to different environments. Whether that be chemicals, heat, or ultrasonic. There are many cleaning tools sold online that can cause serious damage to your jewellery. The simple solution is the best solution. If you need your rings professionally cleaning, always bring them to a trusted professional jeweller.
